Informationen zum Lied
Cliff Richard machte "Mistletoe and Wine" 1988 zu einem Nummer-1-Hit in England. Gleichzeitig war es die meistverkaufte Single des Jahres.

Im Ursprung war "Mistletoe and Wine" jedoch ein Stück aus dem Musical Scraps (später umbenannt in The Little Match Girl), das auf dem Märchen "Das Mädchen mit den Schwefelhölzern" von Hans Christian Andersen basierte und nicht als Weihnachtslied gedacht. Mit Genehmigung der Songwriter änderte Cliff Richard das Lied ab und vergab einen religiösen Charakter.
