	"Mary's Boy Child" wurde 1956 von Jester Hairston geschrieben und noch im gleichen Jahr von Harry Belafonte gesungen und veröffentlicht. 1957 erreichte Belafonte Platz 1 in den UK-Charts. Seitdem gab es zahlreiche Coverversionen dieses Weihnachtsliedes, zu dessen bekannteren sicherlich die Version von Boney M. gehört.
