	Informationen zum Lied
	Der genaue zeitliche Ursprung des Wexford Carol ist nicht bekannt, aber er scheint ins 12. Jahrhundert zurückzugehen. Auf jeden Fall gilt der Wexford Carol als eines der ältesten Weihnachtslieder im englischen Sprachraum. Die Melodie scheint eher dem 18. oder frühen 19. Jahrhundertt zu entspringen. Seinen geografischen Ursprung hat das Lied im irischen Bezird Wexford, genauer in Enniscorthy.
