	Informationen zum Lied
	Als Weihnachtslied hierzulande eher unbekannt, so ist zumindest der Text des Liedes über 500 Jahre alt. 1504 taucht der Text in einer Sammlung von Richard Hill erstmalig auf, jedoch ist das Original des unbekannten Verfassers noch etwas älter. Benjamin Britten verwendete den Text in einem seiner Frühwerke aus dem Jahr 1933, das unter dem Namen "A Boy was born" erschien.
